Newest barbies set to sizzle
The desire for bigger, better and more refined looking outdoor rooms has seen the emergence of Barbeques Galore’s top-end products such as the Grand Turbo and the Turbo Select.

Weighing in at $7,000, the super heavyweight champion of Australian barbecuing is the exclusive Grand Turbo.

Hand polished edges add a touch of glamour to the Grand Turbo which comes on a stainless steel cart, with four sturdy castors for ease of positioning.

Featuring a stainless steel body and ultra-sophisticated capabilities, the Grand Turbo has six gas burners under the hood, two side burners on the left and one infra-red rotisserie burner. The 240-volt rotisserie, for top-speed cooking, can be operated independently of the barbeque.

With both a side burner and a roasting hood for covered cooking, chefs can roast a marinated leg of lamb, or foil wrapped fish, and stir fry crisp, fresh vegetables in a wok at the same time.

The Grand Turbo is priced at $6,990. Natural or LP gas versions are both available.

Barbeque shoppers looking for an appliance with sophistication and styling should also check out the Barbeques Galore Turbo Select.

With leading-edge features like insulated double skin stainless steel roasting hood, an all stainless steel cooking surface, an integral infra-red rotisserie burner, and electronic gas gauge system, the Turbo Select comes in 5-burner and 6-burner versions.

“The Turbo Select’s distinctive appearance, with features to match, make it the most exciting, eye-catching and high-performance barbeque ever to appear on the market,” says Anderson.

The Turbo Select comes in either a built-in model or a fully enclosed cupboard cart model.

A 5-burner Turbo Select barbeque on a cupboard cart is $2,590, with the 6-burner version priced at $2,990. Both cart barbeques include the infra-red rotisserie with 240 Volt spit motor and an additional side burner. Side burners are great for stir-frying, steaming, deep frying, sauces, boiling pasta or anything you can do on a stove top.

The Turbo Select’s superior features include a warming rack, hotplates and grills.

For those who prefer something with a more retro style, the Xcellent Grillstation fits the bill.

This latest addition to Barbeques Galore’s line up for summer pays homage to 50’s era design, with stainless steel exterior, trendy curved bubble hood, inbuilt thermometer, and swivelling flat ‘cook top’ come ‘side shelf’.

“The Xcellent Grillstation has a stylish appeal all of its own, and will really excite young urban dwellers with an eye for fashion trends who enjoy partying at home,” says Barbeques Galore’s barbeque product manager, Peter Anderson.

Priced at $995.00, Anderson believes the Grillstation will appeal to metro residents living in terraces, high-rise apartments or semis with smaller balconies, courtyards and patios.

“It is superb for inner city entertaining and will be a style hit with those looking for a distinctive barbeque to complete their outdoor areas,” he said.

The versatile 3-burner barbeque also delivers on functionality. The Grillstation has electronic multispark ignition, a double drain fat system, 2100 cm2 enamelled bar grill cook top, and built-in detachable meat thermometer for checking roast-readiness.

Barbeques Galore is at Homemaker City, Aspley (corner of Gympie and Zillmere Roads, Aspley); Homemaker City, Jindalee (34 Goggs Lane, Jindalee) and Homemaker City Springwood (corner of Logan and Lexington roads, Springwood).
